SDC IMPACTing our Communities

In Ephesians 5:1-2 we are encouraged to imitate Jesus and walk in love as He has loved us and given Himself for us. IMPACT provided our student body with the opportunity to step off our campus and serve in Santee, San Diego and Mexico. Students choose to serve with local partners on Thursday and Friday or join a travel team for four days. Check out the recap video.

Our local teams served at 16 serving sites with activities varying from work and beautification projects to cultural experiences. Several staff and faculty members served alongside our students and added to our total of 270 men and women serving over 2,430 hours. They walked away from this experience with full hearts and more knowledge of how to use their skills, gifts and time to impact those around them.

Our travel teams served with four partners in Mexico with activities ranging from construction and building to establishing relationships with orphans and young lives who are most “at-risk.” 37 traveled to Mexico and invested over 1,100 service hours. Each life the team encountered had a story and it was a privilege to step into their worlds and bring God’s love.

IMPACT is always a meaningful experience for our SDC community. We look forward to the Lord using the hours of service for His Kingdom.

Thanks to our amazing serving sites!
