Kayla Harder, a 2014 San Diego Christian Aviation Department graduate, received an excellent rating on her technical evaluation with Missionary Aviation Fellowship (MAF) this week at MAF headquarters in Idaho. Kayla received funding for over half of her training at SDC through SDC’s Missionary Pilot Loan Forgiveness Program (MPLFP). The MPLFP loan is forgiven twenty percent per year they serve on the mission field thus eliminating the debt in five years.
At the same time Kayla was flying in Idaho, MAF visited SDC attending the SDC Aviation Advisory Board meeting. MAF announced their intention of placing SDC on the list of highly suggested schools to go to for missionary aviation preparation, a visit from their senior leadership, flying a Kodiak this spring to SDC to give rides to SDC students and faculty, and funding from MAF to help SDC students even more to reach their goal of flying for MAF.
