Today, Dr. Paul Ague announced the appointment of Dr. Elizabeth Stanton as the interim Academic Vice President to the faculty and staff during the monthly CommUNITY event. Dr. Stanton joined the SDC faculty the same semester that Dr. Ague was elected as President. Coming to SDC with her Master’s degree from Wesleyan University, she went on to complete her Doctorate of Psychology at Southern California Seminary and is currently finishing her requirements as a licensed Psychologist.
Dr. Stanton was elected by the faculty to serve on the Faculty Development Committee, which she currently chairs; and she is the Psychology Department Chair. She is an active member in her church and community. Dr. Ague shared, “I have worked with Elizabeth on other SDC initiatives. She is an exceptional leader, and truly understands the heart and soul of SDC’s mission. She has critical and thoughtful insights, and Elizabeth is motivated by our desire to be student centric and to have a faculty that is engaged both in and out of the classroom. It is my privilege to have her serve on the cabinet representing the academic needs of our faculty, students, and staff.”
