Assistant Professor of Film and Media Studies

Job Summary:

The Department of Communication at San Diego Christian College is pleased to announce a full-time faculty opening for an Assistant Professor of Communication in Film and Media Studies. The position begins in August 2017. Interviews start in November 2016 and will continue until the position is filled.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

We are seeking a dynamic educator who thrives on helping students discover and pursue God’s vocational call on their lives. In addition to the knowledge base necessary for training a diverse culture of young scholars in a practical Christian context, the ideal candidate will also possess an understanding of the vital nature of redemptive communication in a fallen world. The candidate should hold a minimum of a Master’s degree in communication, journalism, mass media, or a related field with evidence of teaching effectiveness and a commitment to lifelong learning. The candidate must demonstrate excellent communication skills, a willingness to mentor students, and a desire to utilize creative mass communication strategies to make a positive impact on the culture. The candidate should also be in agreement with the mission, vision, and practices of the College.
