The Department of Business at San Diego Christian College (SDC) is committed to preparing graduates for dynamic careers in the business profession while providing students with skills in basic areas of management built upon strong Christian ethics.

Why Choose Business at SDC?

Upon completion of their degree, students will have gained a thorough understanding of international business, finance, and marketing, as well as proficiency in the application of multiple business tools and theories. Students will receive hands-on experience through internships and personal attention from qualified professors who have managerial and international experience in the field of business. They will also be given the opportunity to participate in three-week study abroad courses with faculty from their department.

The Business Department at SDC prepares students to enter the world of business with a biblical worldview while still performing with excellence. Whether a student wants to open a small business down the road or join a multi-national corporation, students in the Business Department will develop knowledge and skills related to the basic functional areas of management, integrated within a biblical perspective.

Students will learn to communicate clearly, concisely and completely by writing, speaking and collaborating effectively. The Business Department also focuses heavily on ethics and the role of a Christian in the workplace while still being competitive and successful. Business can be used to provide jobs and revenue for those who don’t have it, provide a service to assist in day to day living and businesses can be used to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ around the world, and SDC wants to prepare students to excel in this field.

The business department here at SDC has helped develop me and prepare me for my for future endeavors. The business professors have invested in me both in class as well as in my internship at Corporate Jack in the Box. I’ve been challenged to pursue excellence in all areas of life, and I am confident that the training I received here at SDC will empower me to be successful in the business world.

~Brad Boerneke, Business Department, December 2015

The Department of Business was what brought me to San Diego Christian. The opportunities for internships and real life application to the business world was extremely helpful. The professors have been in both small business as well as large corporations and offer a wide array of wisdom when it came to real world aspects. I also enjoyed the biblical application in all of my classes, it has prepared me to be successful but also ethical in my business practices. I now work in the Marketing Department for San Diego Christian after an internship during my time at the school.
