Marc Hutchins, Associate Professor
Professor Hutchins is an award-winning independent film writer, director, producer. Through a self-taught journey at the turn of the millennium, he built a production company, investing extensive time and resources to learn the craft of filmmaking, entertainment, and commercial production. His company, Alexander Films, has produced 3 indie features, two of which he co-wrote and directed.
He has developed over a dozen stories as IP, scripts, or completed projects (feature and short film, TV, and documentary). On set, he has worked as producer, director, AD, location manager, production manager, gaffer, and a few other crafts. He has also participated in multiple film festivals, pitching events, writing seminars, and other production-related seminars in lighting, cinematography, and acting, and marketing.
Professor Hutchins holds a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sports Science from the University of Florida and is currently completing his Master’s of Fine Arts degree with Full Sail University. He taught elementary school before starting his production company in 2003, and since that time, he has continued teaching others by creating and running middle and high school film camps, adult education screenwriting, lighting, and production courses, and speaking at Liberty University film and media events. He served 6 years with the United States Marine Corp and participated in Desert Storm in 1991. He has been married to his wife Susanna since 1990, and they have 8 children.
