Comments from Classmates
Classmate comment from Morgan: How awesome that you are making your own podcasts! Listening to podcasts is one of my favorite things to do – I always have one playing while I am driving. I have also been thinking about adding them into my ELA classes. It’s a great way to spice things up!
Classmate comment from David – I agree that other teachers might see your extra work and success as a threat to their own allotted work time. Resentment and jealousy are very human qualities that we should all fight against. Whenever I get these feelings, I remember Chuck Norris’s code of conduct. Code number 6 states: “I will always be enthusiastic about the success of others as I am about my own.” I think you should ignore this challenge of possible resentment and push on to greater goals.
Classmate comment from Martin – Hi Daniel… I understand your concern about fearing that some teachers will feel pressure to also produce similar podcasts because of your project’s success. As an older teacher, and someone who is technologically challenged in many ways, this would be difficult for me to implement. Your project sounds awesome.
These three comments can sum up the collaborative experience of what it is like being a student at San Diego Christian College each week. We encourage each other. We offer support and guidance. We offer encouragement even when we don’t feel it from the schools we teach at, or the greater community, and we are guided by our Professor to test our theories, prove the positive changes, and substantiate our pedagogy. It has been a year of great growth and collaboration. I am happy to share these stories in this week’s videos.
