The Board of Trustees at San Diego Christian College (SDCC) has announced the retirement of President Paul Ague as of August 2019.

Dr. Paul Ague, SDCC’s tenth president, has served the college for twelve years. He retires after playing a critical role in the development and success of SDCC. Under Dr. Ague’s leadership, SDCC has achieved several milestones including joining the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU). He defined the mission, vision, and values of the institution and lead the expansion of academic offerings. Under his direction, the college expanded its academic scope to also offer online and graduate degree programs allowing students broader opportunities to pursue their academic goals.

In reflection, Dr. Ague said, “As I look back on my time at San Diego Christian College, I am grateful for the God-orchestrated events that led me to SDCC. My motivation to serve with excellence has been my identity in Christ, and it has been a privilege to be a part of an academic community that strives to make an eternal impact. It has been an opportunity of a lifetime to serve as President of San Diego Christian College.”

Dr. Ague holds a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master of Science in Educational Administration from Tennessee Temple University. He holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education from Walden University. As he retires, he looks forward to volunteering in ministry, consulting, and spending more time with family.

The Board of Trustees will appoint a Presidential Search Committee determined to find an exemplary individual who will lead the strategic plan and direction for the expansion of SDCC. As part of the search process, the Board will identify an interim President, and over the next few months, they will conduct an intensive pursuit to find the next President of San Diego Christian College.

“Dr. Ague leaves an incredible imprint on all of us,” stated Phil Sparling, Chairman of the Board at SDCC, “and the Board is deeply grateful for Dr. Ague’s commitment and leadership of San Diego Christian College. The college has a strong foundation and we are looking forward to the next semester this fall.”
