This summer, SDC’s Volunteers Around the World chapter will be partnering with local physicians and indigenous missionaries in Cusco, Peru, providing resources, support, and encouragement as they work together to impact the world for Christ. Some ministry projects of this trip will include assisting physicians with procedures, performing triage, administering medication, teaching classes on hygiene, nutrition, and first-aid, and running mobile clinics and pharmacies.
Volunteers Around the World (VAW) is the world’s fastest-growing student-led international health and dental organization. It is a Humanitarian Organization devoted to improving the standard of living for those that live in some of the most poverty-stricken communities of the world. Our focus is to provide communities with access to medical and dental treatment, medication, nutritional security, clean water and health education. Our mission as a chapter at SDC is to be missionaries for Christ to poverty-stricken villages, extending God’s Kingdom to South America and beyond.
Our team will travel July 15-30. The total cost of the trip is $3,200 per person and deadlines are soon approaching! The team is also raising funds to help send our Biological Science Department Chair, Professor David Hillaker, on this trip with us at no cost to him, so please support financially and through prayer!
