We are excited to have you join the SDCC family! We believe that you are about to embark on the most incredible and transformative years of your life. During your time at SDCC, you will grow spiritually, gain life-long friendships, and develop leadership skills.
At New Student Orientation (NSO) you will connect with fellow Hawks, meet faculty and staff, and learn all about your new home. From check-in, moving into your new room, learning more about the SDCC community, to fun activities, NSO is jammed packed with everything you need to be prepared for your time at SDCC.

NSO Frequently Asked Questions
Our New Student Orientation Team is so excited to have you join the SDCC Family this Fall! Below you will find a link to our tentative 2020 NSO Schedule. Please note that if you plan to live on campus, move-in day is August 20. For students not living on campus, the first day of NSO begins Friday, August 21! All dates, times, and events are subject to change.
CAN MY FAMILY ATTEND WITH ME?
Yes! We invite & encourage family and friends to join you on both move-in day (Thursday) and day one of orientation (Friday). Later in the day on Friday, we will have time set aside for you to say goodbye to your family and friends before we begin the rest of our activities!
WHAT SHOULD I BRING IF I’M LIVING ON-CAMPUS?
We want to make sure you are prepared for life at the SDCC Apartments! Here is a complete list of items to bring & things not to bring: NSO PACKING LIST

AM I REQUIRED TO ATTEND NSO?
Yes, we require all Freshman & Transfer Students to attend NSO. NSO is specifically designed to help students get acquainted with the SDCC culture. If you cannot attend one of the day’s events, please email us at email@example.com.
WHERE CAN MY FAMILY STAY DURING ORIENTATION?
While we do not offer accommodations for your family and friends on campus, we have formed partnerships with local hotels. Use this link to book a room at our discounted rate: BOOK NOW
DO I NEED A PARKING PERMIT?
All students are required to register their vehicles using this VEHICLE REGISTRATION FORM. While we do not give out actual parking passes, all vehicles that are not registered in our system will be towed. Parking is enforced after the first week of classes.
If living at the on-campus apartments, you will be given a parking pass and an assigned parking space after the first week of classes.
