Our History

Centered on Christ, Equipped for Life

San Diego Christian College (formerly Christian Heritage College) was generated through the vision of Drs. Tim and Beverly LaHaye who felt the need for a Christ-centered college on the west coast.

The College began in the fall of 1970, under the sponsorship of Scott Memorial Baptist Church, and was founded by Dr. Tim LaHaye, Dr. Art Peters, and Dr. Henry Morris. The first graduates were awarded degrees in June 1973.

As the College continued to grow at the Scott Memorial Baptist Church (now Shadow Mountain Community Church) in El Cajon, CA. Dr. David Jeremiah became Senior Pastor in 1981. He led the College as President and Chancellor over the next four decades.

In January 2014, San Diego Christian College relocated to its own campus in the San Diego suburban city of Santee.

Dr. Kevin Corsini was appointed as President in September 2019. Dr. Corsini brings a vast amount of experience in higher education and leadership.

Santee Campus

Nearly 50 years after its founding, SDCC remains true to its Christ-centered beginnings.

At his appointment, Dr. Corsini remarked, “I believe that God has great plans for this wonderful school and I am excited to serve alongside the amazing faculty and staff on campus. It is my great desire to see Christ glorified in and through the lives of our students.”
