Summary of Learning Objectives for the Bachelor’s in Human Development

SDCC’s Human Development program was created to help students acquire the interpersonal skills needed to create an impact in their community and the world at large. It can also prepare students for graduate work if they wish to pursue a master’s-level counseling degree or social services degree.

As a student in the Human Development degree program, you will learn to:

• Apply biblical and ethical principles to address issues in the field of human development.
• Conduct critical analyses of research and information sources relating to experiences across the lifespan.
• Implement theoretical perspectives of human development and leverage their practical applications in personal and professional contexts.
• Demonstrate effective oral and written communication techniques to support advocacy efforts and other human development initiatives.
• Explore and establish personal and professional goals for human development.

Online Human Development Degree Curriculum

Degree candidates must complete 123 credit hours of online coursework or campus-based evening classes to earn a BA in Human Development from San Diego Christian College. Course descriptions and other relevant information can be found in SDCC’s Course Catalog.
