Overview

San Diego Christian College is committed to the educational needs of active duty military, national guard, reservists, veterans, and eligible military spouses and children. To best serve our service members and their families, San Diego Christian College is approved for Military Tuition Assistance, VA GI Bill® benefits, VA Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment (VR&E) services, and My Career Advancement Account Scholarship Program (MyCAA).

Veteran’s benefits can currently be utilized in all our Undergraduate and Graduate degree programs.

Veterans’ Benefits

Our freedom is not taken lightly at SDCC so, for those who were in the armed services, we accept VA education benefits and participate in the Yellow Ribbon program. To learn more and to take advantage of these benefits, please visit http://www.benefits.va.gov/gibill/.

 

Yellow Ribbon Program

Since 2010, SDCC has participated in the Yellow Ribbon Program. Through this program, institutions partner with the VA to help fund tuition expenses for qualified students. The eligibility requirements are as follows:

  • Only individuals entitled to the 100% benefit level (or their dependents using transferred entitlement) may receive Yellow Ribbon funding
  • Students who served at least 36 months or more of active duty after September 10, 2001, and
  • Students who served at least 30 continuous days on active duty, and were discharged due to a service-connected disability

The following are not eligible for the Yellow Ribbon Program:

  • Active Duty personnel
  • Spouses of Active Duty personal using Transferred Entitlement
  • Fry Scholarship recipients

San Diego Christian will abide by the federal regulations and report tuition and fees less any SDC institutional discounts and/or federal (non-title IV) and state discounts. The maximum contribution made by SDC’s Yellow Ribbon Institutional match is $8,000 per academic year.

 

VA Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment (VR&E)

San Diego Christian College accepts and works with VA Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment (VR&E) services. VR&E assists eligible service members and veterans with educational and vocational counseling. To learn more, please visit https://www.benefits.va.gov/vocrehab/.

 

Military Tuition Assistance

Active duty service members, drilling reservists, and service members of the Air or Army National Guard may utilize Tuition Assistance benefits at San Diego Christian College. Please contact your Education Service Officer (ESO) to determine eligibility and for more details.

My Career Advancement Account Scholarship Program (MyCAA)

MyCAA provides a scholarship of up to $4000 for eligible military spouses who are pursuing a license, certification, or Associate’s degree. The eligibility requirements are as follows:

  • Spouses of service members on active duty in pay grades E-1 to E-5, W-1 to W-2, and O-1 to O-2
  • Successfully completed high school, and
  • Have the ability to request tuition assistance while their military sponsor is on Title 10 military orders
