As many of you may be aware, Dr. Beverly LaHaye, one of the founders of San Diego Christian College (formerly Christian Heritage College) has passed away. She and her husband Dr. Tim LaHaye saw the need for a Christ-centered college on the West Coast. This vision, which began in 1970, has inspired over 12,000 alumni to have influence in their communities for the cause of Christ. How grateful we are that the LaHaye’s laid such a strong biblical foundation and we continue to carry this commitment on today.

1970 was a time of significant protests on college campuses across the country and California in particular. Drs. Tim and Beverly LaHaye along with Dr. Art Peters and Dr. Henry Morris established the College at a time when the country was divided by the Vietnam war and many people were not supportive of what colleges represented. Yet, that vision was not to be deterred and their impact continues to affect thousands of lives worldwide.

Dr. LaHaye also played a significant role on the national stage. As the founder of Concerned Women for America, she was a prominent conservative Christian activist and considered a pioneer for Evangelical political engagement. “Beverly LaHaye was not born into privilege nor blessed with extraordinary skills and abilities. Her life is a beautiful demonstration of what God can do with a person who is fully devoted to Him,” stated CWA. “She was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ all the days of her life and God used her in extraordinary ways to make a difference in the world around her.”

We know heaven is rejoicing as she is reunited with her husband. Please continue to pray for the LaHaye family during this time.
